While the last newsletter’s purpose was to give you details about the Machining class, this one is to remind you there is a meeting this Wednesday, June 14th at 7:30. The machining class will be running from 4:00 to 7:00, and if you show up during that time, you can observe the machining class. You can’t do any work there, but you can watch. It may help you decide to take the class the next time its offered (which will be soon after this one ends.) Ten people are signed up for the class. I am used to working alone, but its nice to be in a shop with so much going on. Each person had their own project and everyone got something done on them. Later in the week, I broke 3 band saw blades on my saw. Next week, I want to buy a 100 foot roll of saw blade and use the school’s blade welder to make 27 blades for myself at a cost of $1.50 each. Then even if they break just as fast, I won’t care nearly as much. I went in search of the school’s library. Now that I am a student MCC, all of the school’s resources are available. Instead of 6 books on machines at the Southfield library, I found 6 shelves of them. I’ll be back… J.O.
